Organisations looking to improve their practises in managing projects have consistently found structured methods to be of immense benefit. PRINCE2® is a well-established standard structured method for managing projects and reducing uncertainty in project delivery. PRINCE2® is used by numerous private sector organisations worldwide and is mandatory on many European public sector projects.
Certification in project management skills is a growing expectation in many organisations. The PRINCE2® Foundation certificate in project management certificate in project management and Practitioner certification increases your credibility and demonstrates a thorough understanding of project processes and the PRINCE2® method.
The Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a project management standard that follows guidance from the PMBOK. It covers widely accepted techniques for improved project management processes. PRINCE2 is a methodology which prescribes processes and techniques for running projects. When choosing which project management certification to pursue, you should take into account that the two certifications are more popular in certain geographic regions. PMP is more popular in the United States, for example, while PRINCE2 is more prevalent in the United Kingdom and Europe.
The cost of the exam is normally $229 USD, but the fees for both the Foundation and Practitioner exams are included in the price of course tuition fee.
If you fail the Foundation Exam, you have the opportunity to retake it during this course. If you do not pass, you may not take the Practitioner Exam. If you pass the Foundation Exam but fail the Practitioner Exam, you will receive a PeopleCert Foundation Certificate from Learning Tree. You will have the opportunity to re-sit the Practitioner Exam during a future course event. You do not have to retake this course. Additional cost is involved in retaking the Practitioner Exam.
PeopleCert strives to deliver results to Learning Tree within two to four weeks of receiving exams. However, with the growing popularity of PRINCE2®, this time is occasionally longer. Learning Tree will mail your practitioner examination results to you upon receiving it from PeopleCert.
You have two choices. You can sit the re-registration exam every 3 years. Or, you can join the AXELOS Professional Development program (visit www.axelos.com) and complete Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities where you earn a digital badge that shows that your skills and practical knowledge are current. This digital badge also qualifies PRINCE2 Practitioners to work towards the PRINCE2 Agile Certification.
Both Learning Tree and this course have been accredited by PEOPLECERT. As an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO), Learning Tree and its trainers have been approved to deliver this course and invigilate PRINCE2 exams. PEOPLECERT is responsible for providing the examinations, and marking and notifying Learning Tree and the learner of the results.
