How Learning Tree Courses Align with PMI
Although our courses are not specifically designed as preparatory PMP® exam courses, PMP® exam candidates definitely benefit from taking the courses in the Learning Tree Management Curriculum. In addition to providing the skills that project, programme and people managers need to be successful in the real world, our course material is aligned with the PMI document called The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide - Third Edition), on which the PMP® exam is based.

Download the Learning Tree PMI Certification and Testing Q & A (in PDF format) for a detailed explanation how each course in the Learning Tree Management Curriculum aligns with the PMI Registered Education Provider (PMI R.E.P.) Standard.

How Learning Tree Helps You Achieve the PMI CAPM Certification
PMI grants a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification that is beneficial to project team members or early stage project managers who are looking for a stepping stone to the PMP® certification.

The CAPM eligibility requirements are:

  • 1,500 hours of work on a project team OR
  • 23 contact hours of formal education in project management

Several Learning Tree project management courses provide 23 hours of education, which meets this requirement.

For all candidate and examinee policies and procedures regarding the CAPM credential, please review the CAPM Handbook.

Earning PDUs for PMP® Qualification

As a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) for the PMI, we can assist you with the initial qualifications for, and ongoing maintenance of, the PMP® certification. The PMP® certification, well known in the field of project management, recognises a solid foundation of experience, education, and accomplishment in project management.

PMP® candidates are required to earn a minimum of 35 Professional Development Units (PDUs) gained through training provided by a PMI R.E.P. Once certified, PMP®s must earn at least 60 PDUs every three years.

For more information about PMI and the requirements for the PMP®, please ask a member of our Educational Services staff for the Learning Tree PMI Q & A.
