What is this course about?This course prepares you for the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) Certification of Competency in Business AnalysisTM (CCBATM) exam. You gain the knowledge to assure your exam preparedness, while enhancing your business analysis skill set, by navigating in depth the six knowledge areas and underlying competencies of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK®). Demonstrations and practice quizzes reinforce the concepts and provide the framework for a personalized study plan for exam success.What is the CCBATM?The CCBATM is a formal certification developed by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) to validate the knowledge and skills of business analysis professionals with at least two and a half years of documented experience. CCBATM recipients are recognized for the investment they have already made in their business analysis careers. The certification is based on the best practices contained within the BABOK® Guide. The CCBATM credential recognizes a strong understanding of all six knowledge areas of the BABOK® Guide, with proven proficiency in at least two.Who will benefit from this course?This certification exam preparation course targets experienced business analysts, project managers, and project team members who are interested in achieving this certification. How many and what kind of questions are on the exam?The CCBATM exam is made up of 150 multiple choice questions with four possible answers. Some questions are based on comprehension (e.g., definition, recall, etc.) and others are based on situational analysis (e.g., Given a scenario, which is the best course of action?) where the applicant must perform analysis to arrive at the answer.The exam blueprint based on v2.0 of the BABOK® Guide: Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring 20%Elicitation 13.33%Requirements Management and Communication 16%Enterprise Analysis 15.33%Requirements Analysis 19.33%Solution Assessment and Validation 16% What background do I need?Anyone preparing for the CCBATM exam should meet, or should be close to meeting, the exam eligibility criteria established by IIBA® in the CCBATM Application Handbook. These requirements include:Work experience:A minimum of two and a half years of business analysis work experience in the past. Knowledge Area experience: A minimum of 900 hours in tasks specifically related to two of the six knowledge areas or 500 hours in four of the six knowledge areas as defined within the BABOK® Guide.Education: The minimum education requirement is high school or equivalent education. Professional Development: 21 hours of professional development in the last four years. The professional development content must be directly related to business analysis or its underlying fundamentals and be completed by the exam application date. The BABOK® Guide is composed of six knowledge areas plus underlying competencies. The six knowledge areas are Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring; Elicitation; Requirements Management and Communication; Enterprise Analysis; Requirements Analysis; and Solution Assessment and Validation. All Course 3503 instructors are IIBA® certified and are qualified to teach the latest version of the IIBA® CCBATM exam. Furthermore, all instructors meet strict Learning Tree instructor criteria and are practicing professionals in the field of business analysis.What is the application process to take the exam?To be eligible for CCBATM certification, you must meet the applicant requirements and complete the CCBATM application form. Your application forms should be assembled and submitted to IIBA® as a package or you can apply online at http://www.theiiba.org. The application includes the following components:The completed CCBATM Application Form.The two completed sealed CCBATM Candidate Reference Forms.The signed and dated CCBATM Code of Ethical Conduct & Professional Standards Form.The CCBATM Exam Special Accommodation Form (if required).The application fee (required) and the exam fee. The exam fee can be paid after your application is approved. Are there requirements for maintaining my certification?All CCBATM holders are required to meet continuing proficiency requirements in order to maintain their CCBATM designation. CCBATM holders are required to renew every three years.
