What version of Outlook does this course use?

This course uses Microsoft Outlook 2010.

My company is using Outlook 2003/2007. Will this course still be helpful to me?

The user interface is significantly different in Outlook 2010. However, much of the functionality is the same in Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010. While many new features are introduced in Outlook 2010, the basic principles in the course apply to 2003 and 2007 users.

Will we be exploring in detail the user interface (the Ribbon)?

Yes. In this course, you learn how to leverage the user interface for improved productivity. You learn how to customize and navigate the Ribbon, create Quick Steps and modify the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT).

Will I learn how to manage the Outlook Calendar?

Yes. In this course, you learn how to leverage the extensive features of the Outlook Calendar, including Recurring Events, Categories and Calendar Sharing. You gain the skills to construct a dynamic and realistic schedule to adapt to your changing business environment.

Will we learn how to use Outlook Tasks?

Yes. In this course, you maximise the many features of Outlook Tasks. You learn how to improve productivity by establishing a central point for all of your responsibilities, break down projects into achievable tasks, and effectively prioritise tasks by assigning Importance Levels.

Does this course show me how to manage Outlook e-mail?

Absolutely! You learn a new approach to Microsoft Outlook that leverages the extensive features to increase productivity and personal effectiveness. We not only show you how to balance e-mail demands, we also help you solve your time and e-mail management problems by employing a zero inbox policy.

Does this course cover Outlook Contacts?

No. The focus of this course is on managing your time and tasks using the Calendar, Tasks and Mail. There have been no significant changes in the Contacts component.

I'm sometimes overwhelmed by high volumes of e-mail. Will this course help me develop a system to handle my e-mail?

Yes. You learn how to prioritise e-mail, create Rules & Alerts and quickly convert e-mail to Tasks and Appointments. You also construct sophisticated searches to quickly locate information, tailor a file based storage system, and simplify e-mail storage with Categories.
