You learn to locate files by name, owner, type and other characteristics; navigate the UNIX directory hierarchy; manipulate files; and control file access. You also learn to customise the KornShell, and extract and process information with filters and pipes.

You learn to install and configure system and application software, maintain and monitor file systems; add, remove and configure user accounts, and monitor and troubleshoot system performance. UNIX® and Linux® Tools and Utilities: Hands-On(Course 396 - 4 days)This course provides the knowledge and skills you need to effectively use key standard UNIX and Linux tools and utilities.
