In this course, you take apart and reassemble a complete PC system and use specific techniques for identifying the source of hardware and software problems. You learn how to install and configure the motherboard and adapter cards, use POST and advanced diagnostics, and troubleshoot PC hardware and software with Device Manager.

 

In this advanced course, you gain the tools and techniques you need to maximize the performance of PC systems, troubleshoot problems, and recover lost data and files. You learn to create emergency rescue disks; detect and remove virus and spyware programs; and install and configure a basic TCP/IP network and firewall.

 

You gain the necessary skills to configure, maintain and troubleshoot multiple network configurations using a comprehensive set of tools and techniques. You learn to install a switched network with VLANs, configure and test network adapters for optimum LAN performance, manage IP address assignments and subnetting, and troubleshoot issues throughout the network.
