This course provides extensive experience with Java and its object-oriented features. You use Java to create both console and GUI applications. You build robust applications using Java's object-oriented features as well as develop platform-independent GUIs. You also learn to read and write data using Java streams and retrieve data from a relational database with JDBC.

 

You learn how to integrate key components of the Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE), including servlets and JSP technologies to create dynamic data-driven Web applications. You also learn to generate dynamic Web pages with JavaServer pages (JSP), personalise content for users with cookies and sessions using the Java Servlet API, and integrate JSP custom tags to minimise scriptlet code.

 

This course provides the skills to apply the Struts 1 framework to design and build enterprise Web applications. You learn to build wizard-style page flows, create Action Classes to handle application requests, leverage Struts custom tags and the JSP Standard Tag Library (JSTL) and integrate the Struts Tile Framework to develop reusable JSP layouts.
