Can I attend a Learning Tree course from anywhere?
From work, home, or on the road?
Yes. You can train from anywhere convenient to you, as long as your computer and Internet connection meet certain minimal requirements.
What are the computer requirements?
For best results, we require the following:
• An audio-enabled computer
• A minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768
• Intel Pentium® 4, or Intel Mac or equivalent, with 2.5 GHz or faster processor
• 1 GB of RAM
• Web Browser: Internet Explorer 7 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 2, or Safari
• Adobe Flash Player 8 or later
• Support for Java or ActiveX within a web browser, and the latest version of Java installed
• Reliable high-speed (DSL or higher) Internet connection (a wired Internet connection preferable)
Any special software I need to install?
None! Everything is done through your regular browser—Internet Explorer 7+, Mozilla Firefox 2+, or Safari.
Do I need my own microphone, earphones and/or headset?
Prior to the course Learning Tree will provide you a headset to use in the course, and which you keep afterwards.
Is it really the same quality Learning Tree classroom experience when it’s over the Internet?
Absolutely! We designed Learning Tree AnyWare to provide you with the same experience you would receive in person, because you attend—remotely—an actual class running live at one of our Education Centres. Some of your classmates will be in the physical classroom and others will participate remotely.
Why is Learning Tree AnyWare so much more effective than off-the-shelf, self-paced e-learning programmes?
The most important benefit of live, instructor-led training is the ability to interact with your instructor and fellow students. It is through such interactions that real learning takes place. In fact, in Learning Tree courses, over half the time is spent on interactive activities—where real learning really happens! You’ll get your specific questions answered on the spot. Get immediate clarification of anything that is confusing. Get expert advice on how to best apply the material to your own projects. Perform the in-class hands-on exercises under the guidance of an expert. Share your experiences in the field with your other students, and learn from their experiences... and so much more made possible with Learning Tree AnyWare.
How is the classroom experience actually delivered?
Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro is used to deliver our Learning Tree AnyWare classes. Hands-on exercises are delivered to your desktop through a remote connection to a hosted exercise environment. Hard-copy Course Notes and other required materials will be shipped to you prior to the course.
How do I connect to the classroom?
One week prior to the class start date, you will receive an e-mail with a URL to connect to the classroom along with your login credentials. We’ll ask you to log in and test your system, audio and Internet connection in advance, and we’ll provide any assistance you may need. Then when the course starts, just log in—from anywhere—and join your classmates live in the classroom. It’s that easy!
What are the course hours?
Start- and end-times vary for each individual course. You will need to check these for your specific event.
How can I take the (optional) end-of-course mastery exams?
Many Learning Tree courses lead to Learning Tree Professional Certification, which you achieve by taking four courses within a particular discipline and passing the mastery exam at the end of each course (at no additional charge). As a remote attendee, if you elect to take the mastery exam, it will need to be proctored. Simply complete the online Proctored Exam Request Form ahead of time.
How do I complete the course evaluation and receive my Course Completion Certificate?
On the last day of your class, your instructor will provide you a link to complete the online evaluation, and also verify the information to appear on the Course Completion Certificate, which will be mailed to you after the course.
